Watershed Science and Engineering (Watershed Management)
Program Overview
The Master of Science (M.Sc.) Program in Watershed Science and Engineering is a graduate-level academic and research-oriented program offered within the field of Agricultural Engineering and Natural Resources, under the supervision of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The revised curriculum of this program was officially reviewed and approved during the 61st Session of the Educational Planning Commission on March 9, 2016 (9/12/1394).
Following its approval, this curriculum replaced previous Master’s programs in watershed-related disciplines. The curriculum has been formally communicated to all universities and higher education and research institutions operating in accordance with the Ministry’s regulations and is enforceable for students admitted from the date of approval onward.
Nature and Objectives of the Program
Watershed Science and Engineering is an interdisciplinary field concerned with the integrated management of land, water, and related natural resources within watershed systems. The Master’s program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive scientific and applied understanding of watershed processes, resource conservation, and sustainable development.
The main objectives of the Master’s Program in Watershed Science and Engineering include:
Program Structure and Duration
The duration and structure of the Master’s program are determined in accordance with the rules and academic regulations of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology. The program is typically completed within four academic semesters (two years).
The curriculum consists of:
Successful completion of both components is required for graduation.
Importance and Necessity of the Program
